CCT 4G Launching Fun Day Event

collage_20140316201641327Woot!!! Let the good times roll!!! That is right baby! Carib Gamer got the chance to run online games at the CCT 4G launching event. I won’t lie it wasn’t a smooth ride. First it didn’t start on time. You know Tortola time never starts on time. Nonetheless we still kept a positive attitude. Why? well that is easy. We will be the ones to test out online gaming on a 4G network. Many gamers crave faster internet. The many questions was asked but one was the most asked. Is it fast? The answer is a resounding yes.

I know what you are waiting for. You want to see proof of this internet speed I speak of. You want to know how fast will this be. Did it handle the amount of online consoles at the event? Well let me tell you that it did not handle the 6 consoles online at the same time. We had an Xbox One, two Xbox 360, two PS3’s and One Nintendo Wii. For the old school gamers we had the original Nintendo. Yes the real deal not a PC running an emulator. At first we started to stream on Twitch on Caribgamertv but had some lag. Then some of the gamers playing Battlefield 4 started to experience lag. So we had to get a second modem to handle the load. Now one of the techs at the event told me something about not being optimized. either way once he brought the second modem and we placed 2 consoles on it. The Xbox One and one of the PS3 it was smooth sailing from there.

Didn't have much room left for the modem so it had to sit on the Wii.

A speed test done on one of the 4G Modems that was handling the Stream on twitch tv and Halo 3 online. Which in my opinion is good when you have 2 devices pulling from it.

We weren’t the only entertainment there. There were artist singing their latest songs at the event. A bouncy house for the little ones. Food and free swag being shared out. Oh also new phones with 4G capabilities. The event was a huge success. It showed the people of the BVI that 4G is here and that we have a choice to have fast internet on our phones and at our homes.

As of now CCT have not released any of the modems that is on the 4G network for sale as yet. So don’t rush to the store looking for one. Many things have happened since the event that led to them to shut off the 4G services. Sad. Yes but we know they will get their stuff back on track very soon. We all can’t wait to see them back on and ready to serve the people of the BVI. So as soon as they release th epricing info for the MiFi and Routers for home I will post it here on Carib Gamer. So keep it locked to Carib Gamer as we keep on the grind for high speed internet.
